ball check valves
A ball check valve is a simple yet highly effective solution for preventing backflow in various applications. Designed with a single moving part—a spherical ball—it ensures reliable operation by automatically sealing against reverse flow. The full-ported valve seat allows for a tight, leak-free seal without the risk of the ball getting wedged. For vacuum or anti-flooding applications, a floating ball design is used to enhance performance.
In a ball check valve, the ball sits on a precision-machined seat with a single through-hole. When upstream pressure exceeds downstream pressure, the ball lifts, allowing fluid to pass. As pressure equalizes or reverses, the ball settles back into the seat, effectively blocking backflow. This self-cleaning mechanism makes ball check valves ideal for submersible wastewater lift stations, pumping stations, and other demanding environments.
